Indoor Events To Enjoy This February

With the weather through January set to be at the very least, rather chilly, all through into February, it’s unsurprising that after the Christmas period many are set to choose warmer places for their weekends away or early year holidays. That being said though, guests at the Chilworth London Paddington and other Central London hotels who do decide to spend their trip away in the English capital certainly won’t be lacking in things to do.

The flexible nature of London means that there’s always something to do in the city, whatever the weather. From walks in nature to cosy pub lunches, guests at hotels and spas near Paddington will have plenty to keep them occupied – and warm – during a late January into early February visit.

This blog will outline some of the great indoor events and activities that guests at accommodation in Paddington London can enjoy during the colder months of the year. From escape rooms to relaxing dining experiences, London is a city for all seasons.

West End Musicals

West End Musicals

The West End never fails to disappoint, whatever the time of year is. February sees a packed lineup of family-friendly shows including musicals such as Mamma Mia! and Pretty Woman whilst more recent shows such as &Juliet raise the roof at the Shaftsbury Theatre. With a lot to see, rainy days can be lit up like a star when staying in London.

Surrealism Exhibition At The Tate Modern

The Tate Modern is always programming the weird, the wonderful and the downright revolutionary, and this February will be no different. Beginning on the 24th of February and staying at the South Bank based Tate Modern till August, the Surrealism: Beyond Borders exhibition aims to reconstruct how we see art by showing us the medium through the lens of dozens of countries through a 50 year time period.

Afternoon Tea At The Chilworth

Afternoon Tea At The Chilworth

You needn’t be a hotel guest at the Chilworth to enjoy their afternoon tea near Paddington, simply book a table and enjoy one of the ranges of dining options in the hotel tea rooms. This traditional English social occasion allows for you to indulge in a relaxing and refreshing mix of teas and cakes including earl greys, herbal teas, champagne teas and much more.

Van Gogh Self-Portraits At Somerset House

With the Courtauld Gallery having reopened late last year, the on-site art gallery’s main tourist draw will soon be its temporary collection of Van Gogh self-portraits. Showcasing around half the self-portraits Van Gogh drew of himself, this exhibition stands out thanks to the fact that many of these paintings are rarely lent out from their home in Amsterdam.

Imagine Children’s Festival At The South Bank Centre

Looking for something to do during the children’s half term this February? The Imagine Children’s Festival takes place all half term week and includes workshops, shows and more for young children looking to get creative. Running from the 9th to the 20th of February, the Imagine Children’s Festival will gift young children and toddlers with an introduction to storytelling, through music, dance and comedy.

London Film And Comic-Con

Taking place at Olympia on the 26th and 27th of February, the London Film and Comic-Con unleashes talks, memorabilia and comic stalls, costume competitions and photoshoots on film and comic fans in London. Tickets go quickly for this one so if you’re a Trekky, Potterhead or manga fanatic, this is the convention for you.
