London is filled with fans of health and fitness, so it should come as no surprise that this April sees plenty of new events promising to help you tone up or reach your personal wellness goals before the summer. Here are six of the very best classes and events to look forward to this month…

Hula Fit

Ever considered working out with a hula hoop? Whether the answer is yes or no, these fun-packed fitness events are a sure way to help you burn calories and get back on track with your healthy living goals. In addition, they are available at several different locations, helping you access the classes more easily during your stay at The Chilworth.

Events at the Chilworth Paddington

Enjoying the latest in health and wellness needn’t be relegated to outside of your accommodation thanks to the Paddington boutique spa at The Chilworth Hotel. This fantastic wellness space provides a wide variety of different pampering treatments offering all the health benefits of relaxation and stress relief. Popular choices include facials, massages and more intensive body rituals, which take between 30 minutes to 90 minutes to complete.

We recommend the 60-minute body ritual followed by a massage and facial, for the ultimate in luxury during your stay with us. The Chilworth also has its own gym and offers guided yoga sessions on Monday and Wednesday mornings. The parkland surrounding the hotel provides the ideal space for an invigorating jog, and there are even Vitamin C-infused showers to help add extra enrichment after your workout.

CrossFit London

This is the fitness craze which seems to have taken over the world, and if you combine a high-intensity CrossFit workout with a relaxing massage in Paddington afterwards, you’ll surely feel fully revived and ready to take on the world. CrossFit is certainly not for the faint of heart, so is best only practised by those who are already relatively fit and healthy. Sessions are available at various locations throughout London including Vauxhall and Bethnal Green.

Psycle

Ever wondered just how high-octane cycling can get? At Psycle, you’re about to find out. There are large crowds at these classes – which take place both early in the morning and in the evening – with an atmosphere which combines the feel of both a nightclub and a workout. There are new studios located in areas like Shoreditch, Canary Wharf and Mortimer Street, and visitors can also enjoy other less labour-intensive activities like yoga and strength-training while they’re there.

Digme

This is an unusual way to work out, with your progress tracked on a virtual display in front of you – available for all the other people taking part to see. Offering spin classes and HIIT, as well as a series of non-motorised treadmills, this is a great way to stay motivated, particularly for the extra-competitive amongst us.

Paola’s Body Barre

This workout system provides 50-minute classes which combine the best of ballet, dance, pilates and cardio to exercise every possible muscle. Classes can be scaled up depending on your current fitness level, which helps to make a trip less intimidating for the uninitiated.
